Yay Friday!

Happy Friday, everyone!  Yay!  It's almost the weekend!  I'm hoping that most of you, like myself, have a three day weekend thanks to Memorial Day.  Anyone have fun plans?  I desperately wish that we were going to a super fun barbeque with all of our friends...but, you know, we know practically nobody here, so...that's probably not going to happen!

Reader was driving me nuts yesterday.  I didn't get any new posts until the evening, and it published my posts over twelve hours after I wrote them!  Annoying.

Anyway, Matt had a fabulous birthday!  Thanks for the birthday wishes.  I had special ordered a lovely cake from this fabulous bakery in town (Angel B's, if you're in Bloomington and need something yummy!).  As I was at the bakery picking up the cake, Matt texted me.  It said, "we have a cake!"  His mom had taken him out for lunch, and apparently she brought him a huge cake.  Oops.

I got home with MY surprise cake, and realized...wow.  We have too much cake.  If you're in Bloomington and feel like having some tasty cake, let me know!  We can have a cake date this weekend.  :)  I took a couple of photos of the cake I picked up, because it is so so gorgeous.

I took Matt out to dinner at our new sushi spot, and it was delish.  We finished off the evening with cake, naturally, and we watched the Da Vinci Code.  Fun stuff!

I also picked myself up some gorgeous purple tulips for one of my fabulous vases we received as a wedding present - a Kate Spade polka dotted rose bowl.  I am bordering on obsessed with this vase, but haven't had any pretty flowers to put in it yet.  I must have mentioned to Matt about a million times that I wanted some purple tulips...but I guess he never got the hint, so I got them myself!  I am so happy.  Quality Blackberry photo below.

I'm in love with Target

So yesterday morning, I wandered around Target while waiting for the rest of the mall to open.  They have some SERIOUSLY cute clothes for spring!!!  I wanted to post about the stuff I loved the most.  I'm sorry that the photos on the Target website are so ghetto...but, that's life.

Sidenote:  I absolutely love the clothes at Target.  Now that I live in a "small town," the shopping is extremely limited.  All of the clothing items I have purchased since moving here (which aren't very many) were purchased at Target.  In fact, if I need something - primarily for work - I head right to Target.  I love it!  And, I also have a love affair with anything navy.  I fell in love with navy last spring/summer, and I must say that it's still going strong.  Here are my Target picks.  And can I just add that all of these items will look great with the kate spades I gave myself as a birthday present???

Kate Spade, postscript

I thought I would post my favorite photo of my Kate Spade wedding shoes.  I love them, and I love the motion of this photo.  My amazing photographer asked me to spin around so that he could take some of these shots.  I thought he was crazy at the time, and I felt like an idiot spinning around in the hallway pre-wedding when Matt's ENTIRE family was walking up.  Oh well.  When I saw this...I decided it was all worth it!

Oh, Kate.

Kate, Kate, Kate.  Why do you do this to me?
I've discussed this before, so perhaps you remember my unhealthy addiction love for all things Kate Spade.  We have Kate china, Kate vases, I wore Kate shoes on my wedding day, and for goodness sake...I even have a Kate passport folder.  Oh, and a small clutch, of course.  Which is actually a pencil case, which means I also have Kate pencils and erasers.

I got an email today about a sale at one of my favorite websites, Plaza Too.  Are you familiar with Plaza Too?  If not, get your butts over there asap because they have amazing shoe sales on designer stuff.  These amazingly beautiful purple Kelley pumps that I absolutely must have immediately would REALLY like to have in my closet are on sale for $83.99 from $328.  Tell me that's not an amazing deal??!!  The only problem is that THEY DON'T HAVE THEM IN MY SIZE.

Please, I am begging you.  Has anyone seen these gorgeous purple Kelley pumps in a size 9?  On sale for under $100?  You will make a friend for life if you pass on this invaluable information.

For Megan

I know that my good friend Megan reads my blog compulsively, and therefore I kind of feel obligated to blog more frequently so that she has something to do at work.  :)  She mentioned today that she always knows everything I've bought for the wedding, because I post everything here.  Well Megan, I don't want you to be disappointed!  This morning I bought a secondary pair of wedding shoes.  I plan on changing into them when my feet start hurting in my gorgeous kate spades.  I also plan on wearing them to my bridal shower next Saturday in Michigan, to go with an adorable blue silky polka-dot number from Banana Republic (can't find it online, sorry!).  So, my dear friend Megan, let me introduce you to Pair Number Two:

Aren't they adorable?  And, thankfully, significantly more affordable than my Primary Pair.  I had them shipped to my parents' home, so I won't get to see them until next Thursday.  I'm hoping they fit and work out okay...fingers crossed!

In closing, Megan, I don't want  you to be concerned about missing out on any wedding details now that I'm moving away.  I promise to post as regularly as possible so you know everything that's going on!

Hello, Lover

Can I just share with you how obsessed I am - still - with my wedding shoes?  I purchased them several months ago for an undisclosed price (as in, I refuse to share the exorbitant price with the general public) and, well, they are amazing.  Hello, Lover.
Well, they are amazing, right?  What can I say, kate spade knows her stuff.  I can't help but notice my new love of all things kate spade.  We have registered for kate spade china, kate spade vases, I have these gorgeous kate spade shoes, and...well, I guess that's it.  If I had my way, I would have a kate spade clutch to match for the wedding day.  But also, if I had my way, someone else would pay for it.

What I love about these shoes is that they have character.  And, I can wear them again and again - and I will!  I have already started planning outfits that incorporate these shoes, after the wedding.  I keep the shoes in the shoe box, and each shoe is individually wrapped in little plastic bags.  Yeah, I'm protective of them, but wouldn't you be?  I just can't wait to wear them on the wedding day!

Holy Wedding Excitement

Wow - today was so exciting I almost can't stand it.  First of all - I have my wedding dress!!!!!  It's hanging in what appears to be a very sturdy garment bag (?) on my closet door.  It is heavy.  And it's mine!  It fits perfectly - I will barely need any alterations at all, which is fabulous.  No hemming necessary, just some really minor details - and the french bustle.  The real deal looks so much more amazing than the sample - it is mind boggling!  I am on wedding-cloud nine!

Secondly - I came home to discover that we received our first wedding gift!!!!!!!  I could not believe it!  And what a fabulous gift, too - two place settings of our beautiful kate spade Cypress Point china!
It is gorgeous - the photo does not do it justice.  Lots of texture and subtle detailing.  I am just thrilled!  Also freaking out a little bit because I haven't ordered my official thank you notes yet.  I ran out to the Paper Source and picked up a small box of nice thank you notes to hold me over until I have the real deal.

So much wedding excitement...I think I'm starting to realize that this is all really happening!
