There are some days that I just love living in Indiana. Something about living in the "country" (which, by the way, I totally don't...it just seems like I do sometimes!) warms my little heart. I love the way things move so slowly, I love sweet tea (I used to hate it, but now I love it...especially when mixed with lemonade!), and I love horses.
My little sister, S, takes riding lessons at PALS, which is a therapeutic horseback riding program. Once a week, S goes to her riding teacher's barn to help take care of her horse, Sweetpea. I've gone with her several times. It was such a perfect day today that I decided to break out the fancy Blackberry camera to take some photos.
The barn, of course, has a resident cat. Don't they all?
This is Wyatt. He's pretty curious. He is gorgeous, and also for sale. I daydream about bringing him home and keeping him in the guest bedroom. I heart him. Wyatt, meet Blogland. Blogland, meet Wyatt. :)
This is Sweetpea's nose. She loves shoving as much of her nose through that little window as possible. I'm pretty sure she thought I had a treat of some sort...but, you know, I didn't. Just the Blackberry. Which she definitely sniffed quite a bit.
We took Sweetpea out and groomed her. I helped! I did her left side. It looks fantastic.
Sweetpea enjoying being pampered!
Aren't horses beautiful? Even with the poor quality photos, they look so gorgeous.

I love horses. When I used to work with terminally ill kids, we rode horses with them, and it was A-Mazing! For me. For the kids. For the horses. It was just perfect.
I love horses! I wish there was someplace close around here to ride!
I grew up in the country and I wouldn't have wanted to live anywhere else. Our parents got us a pony for our birthday when we were like 8 because we loved riding our cousins horses. She was a great horse.
That is so great that you do this! The horses are beautiful! What a great day :)
They are SO beautiful! I've always wanted a pony. We grew up in Iowa on a "farm," but didn't have animals or a barn or anything...just land! But it certainly was lovely!
That sounds like a wonderfully relaxing day. The perfect spot!
I love horses - i'm so jealous you get to go to a real BARN!!!
Aww! This makes me want to go horseback riding! We had a horse for a long time, but I never learned how to ride, and have always wanted to.
So beautiful! What a great way to spend the afternoon!
I hope you have a nice day!
That is so much fun! Very cute pics! What a fun day! (I did her left side, it looked fantastic, haha!!)
Lucky you! They are such beautiful creatures and I love being around them. You could totally hide Wyatt in your guest room.... =)
Ponies!
But seriously, PALS is a great program; we have something similar here in Austin, and I'd like to get involved one day.
